Speech Therapy
Our licensed speech-language pathologists assess, diagnose, and treat communication disorders and swallowing difficulties to help seniors communicate effectively and safely in daily life.
A speech-language pathologist (SLP) works with patients to improve speech clarity, language understanding and expression, voice quality, fluency, and cognitive-communication skills like memory and problem-solving.
Swallowing disorders (dysphagia) are also a major focus of our in-home speech therapy program. Difficulty swallowing can lead to serious health risks including aspiration pneumonia, so timely intervention is critical. Our therapists evaluate swallowing function and design targeted treatment plans to improve safety during meals.
Conditions we treat include:
- Post-stroke communication and swallowing deficits
- Aphasia (language loss following brain injury or stroke)
- Dysarthria (slurred or slow speech)
- Dysphagia (swallowing disorders)
- Voice disorders
- Cognitive-communication impairments (memory, attention, problem-solving)
